Workers Organising for Justice: Voices from Syria and Sudan
Join MENA Solidarity for this important and urgent session in the heart of Britain’s most historic trade union festival. Hear first-hand accounts from Syrian and Sudanese organisers who are building independent unions in the most challenging conditions—amid war, dictatorship, and deep economic crisis.
These are workers organising from below to resist repression, sectarianism and division, and to fight for dignity, rights, and justice. They are not only confronting local authoritarian regimes, but also the devastating role of foreign intervention and imperialism in fuelling wars and displacing millions.
At a time when refugees are scapegoated and war is normalised, international solidarity has never been more vital. This session will explore how trade unionists here in Britain can support workers’ struggles in Syria and Sudan—and stand with those forced to flee war and oppression.
Come be part of the discussion. Stand with workers. Fight for justice.
Because workers everywhere deserve the right to organise and resist.
