MENA Solidarity stands in unwavering solidarity with the Sudanese Women’s Union UK & I as they lead a march in support of the revolution and in resistance against the ongoing war in Sudan and the appalling violence perpetrated against women.
The march will take place on Saturday, February 8, 2025, in London, gathering at Parliament Square at 12 PM. At 1 PM, it will proceed with ululation—a deeply rooted tradition symbolising unity and shared emotions—to 10 Downing Street, where a memorandum will be submitted. This memorandum will be open for signatures from organisations and individuals who wish to support the cause. This silent protest aims to draw global attention to the crisis in Sudan.
Participants are encouraged, if possible, to adhere to a dress code of black and orange, representing the global symbol for ending all forms of violence against women.
The ongoing war in Sudan stems from the aftermath of the 2018 revolution, which ousted a decades-long dictatorship, with women playing a pivotal role as the revolution’s backbone. The country is now torn apart by a brutal conflict between two major militias: the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). These factions, driven by a struggle for wealth and power, are supported by regional and Western powers. The human cost is staggering—over 150,000 people have been killed, and more than 11 million have been displaced.
Women, in particular, have borne the brunt of this conflict, with their bodies turned into weapons of war. They have endured rape, enslavement, and torture on an unimaginable scale.

This protest is not just about condemning the violence; it is about standing with Sudanese women and revolutionaries who are leading the struggle for justice and freedom. We must amplify their voices and demand an end to the war and the brutality it has brought to their lives.
Join us on February 8, 2025. Support the protest. Together, we can demand justice for Sudan and its people, and unite against violence in all its forms. This is a revolutionary cause—let’s march together in solidarity.
