MENA Solidarity Network is delighted to welcome the PCS as the third national union to affiliate to the network. Delegates at the PCS Annual Conference in Brighton voted overwhelmingly on 24 May to support a motion calling on the union to back the struggles of workers in the Middle East for social justice and democracy, and to affiliate to MENA Solidarity.

Earlier in the week delegates at the PCS Public Service Group Sector conference heard a briefing by MENA Solidarity on developments in the independent unions in Egypt where civil servants have been at the forefront of recent strikes, and video messages of support from two leading women activists in the Independent Property Tax Collectors Union.
