Beirut protesters blockade the entrance of Egyptian embassy

Protesters in Beirut have blockaded the Egyptian embassy, demanding an end to the Egyptian government’s “collaboration with the Zionist enemy”. They called for the immediate opening of the Rafah border for aid and a halt on preparations to host displaced Palestinians on the Egyptian side of the border. The organisers of the protest shared this statement with MENA Solidarity.

Just as the Egyptian regime besieges the Palestinian people in Gaza, we besiege its embassy in Beirut

Today we protest in front of the Egyptian embassy in Beirut, enraged that an Arab state and its representatives, like many other states around the world, is proving to be an enemy of our people.

We shut down the entrance to the embassy to stand against the Egyptian regime as it participates in the genocide of our people in Gaza, starves our children, kills our wounded, and fails our resistance fighters. This regime is an agent of colonial powers and remains submissive to the “israeli” occupier and its interests

Just as the Egyptian regime besieges the Palestinian people in Gaza, we besiege its embassy in Beirut, starting today. We do not welcome the embassy of this regime on our land, and its business must be disrupted.

The Egyptian regime has reached the highest levels of collaboration with the zionist enemy by responding to its orders, most recently and alarmingly by building a detention camp in Sinai as it supports the displacement of the people of Gaza, as documented by the Sinai Foundation for Human Rights.

We will continue to besiege the Egyptian embassy until our demands are met:

* Unconditionally opening the Rafah crossing to allow food and medical aid into Gaza.

* Evacuating the wounded and injured from Gaza immediately and without any conditions.

* Immediately stopping the financial extortion and exploitation of the people of Gaza who wish to leave through the Rafah crossing.

* Immediately putting an end to the building of the camp in Sinai and the plan to forcefully displace the people of Gaza.

* Expelling the israeli occupation ambassador from Egypt and denouncing the Camp David Treaty: the treaty of shame and betrayal.

* Immediately putting an end to the arrest of freedom fighters of all nationalities who take up arms in support of Palestine at the Egyptian border.

The people of the world have declared that they will continue to condem states that support the occupation, including Arab states that normalizes relations with the zionist enemy and collaborate in the occupation of Palestine and the genocide of Palestinians, including the Egyptian, Jordanian, Emirati, and Saudi Arabian states.

Palestine will live free, from the river to the sea. The traitorous Arab regimes will fall, and the occupation will be abolished.
