Model motion

This union notes:

  1. That Israeli attacks on civilians and forced displacement of Lebanese civilians continued “unabated” in August 2026, according to Human Rights Watch.
  2. Israeli forces have targeted journalists and health workers among the over 8200 killed in Lebanon since October 2023.

This union resolves:

  1. to condemn Israel’s forced displacement of Lebanese people and Palestinian refugees as ethnic cleansing and collective punishment
  2. to condemn the destruction of educational institutions and scholasticide in Lebanon and Palestine
  3. to donate £___ to UNRWA and Lebanese Red Cross
  4. to write to Ministers demanding urgent action on:
    1. UK sanctions on Israel for violating ICJ rulings on genocide
    2. immediate cessation of forced displacement
    3. protection of Palestinian right of return under international law
    4. end to Israeli attacks and occupation of Lebanon
  5. to reiterate unwavering solidarity with people of Lebanon, Palestine and Iran.
