رسالة التضامن من معلمين في اسلينجتون بلندن إلى الأخوات والإخوة في مصر. نشارك حالياً بمعركة مع حكومة الإئتلاف حزب المحافظين وحزب الليبرالي الديمقراطي في بريطانيا التي يحاول بكل قوتها بتفرض على العاملين بالأجر ثمن الأزمة الإقتصادية سببوها أصحاب العمل والبنوك.

شاركنا بإضراب ناجح يوم 30 يونيو الماضي مع 700000 عامل من أجل دفاعاً بالنظام المعاش من التخفيضات. وسنشارك بإضراب أخرى يوم 30 نوفمبر ولكن هذه المرة سنضرب مع حاولي 4 مليون عامل من القطاع العام والقطاع الحكومي. إن نضال الشعب المصري وخاصةً إضرابات المعملين المصريون هي إلهام لنا.

وحدة العمال لن تنكسر أبداً!

Solidarity greetings from teachers in Islington (London) to our sisters and brothers in Egypt. We are currently involved in a battle with the UK Conservative and Liberal Democrat Coalition government who are hell bent on making working people pay the cost of an economic crisis caused by bankers and the bosses.

Last June we took part in a successful one day strike along with 700,000 other workers in defence of our pensions. On 30^th November we will strike again, but this time with up to 4 million public sector workers. The struggles of the Egyptian people, especially the strikes now being organised by Egyptian teachers are an inspiration to us. The workers, united, will never be defeated!

سمعت أن نقاباتكم المستقلة للمعلمي ومطالبكم لتحسين الأجور وتثبيت العقود وتقليل عدد الأطفال في الفصل.

إن اللجنة التنفيذية لنقابتنا وهي النقابة العامة للمعلمين في بريطانيا قد أخذت قراراً لمساندة نقاباتكم ومطالبكم وسنتشر هذه المساندة بجميع فروع نقابتنا. أنا شخصياً عضو بالنقابة في غرب لندن وفي منطقتي سنراقب تطور إضراباتكم وحملاتكم بإهتمام شديد عبر الشهور والسنوات القادمة.

I have heard about your new independent teachers union and your demands for better pay, contracts and class sizes.

The National Executive of our organisation – the National Union of Teachers – has already adopted a policy of full support for your organisation and its demands. We will spread that support through all the branches of our organisation.

I am a member in west London and we will watch with keen interest how your strikes and campaigns go in the coming years.

We want to state our full support for your new union, new education system and a new democratic, secular society in a new Egypt free of corruption and exploitation.
